Video Singing Lessons

There are all different types of singing lessons available but video singing lessons are the ones that I’m going to recommend to you most. I have done a few different ones over the years and I have to say without a doubt that the lessons offered by Brett Manning over at SingingSuccess Online are really the best you’re going to find anywhere.

Basically when you sign up for these video lessons then you’re able to access his database of online singing lessons. They will often be segregated into different groups., i.e. beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  They have aptly named titles so that they’re easier to see what the lesson consists of. These lessons are more than just lessons for you… They actual lessons, taking place in a lesson room, being instructed by  Brett, or one of his other highly skilled teachers. It’s nice because you can see how they actually teach somebody and you can learn in the process. It’s also nice to have a visual aid when dealing with ideas that can be “imaginary” concepts that are related to singing.

Each video varies in length but generally I find them to be about 40 minutes long.  There is tons of useful information in them and they’re downloadable so you can watch them again later to revisit any ideas you may not be getting a grip on. I recorded everything I downloaded and still refer to them periodically.

These videos help to give a good explanation of the head voice and chest voice and help to define what the “break” is for people. This is the area in the vocal range where a person wants to shift from their chest voice to their head voice. These video singing lessons teach not only how to over come the “break” but also how to sing in a mixed voice (chest and head). This is extremely important because we all know that the chest gives you the power and the head gives you the range.  Combing the two voices helps you to hit the high notes almost effortlessly and in a way that won’t hurt you.

I can personally attest to the value of the head voice and mixed voice. There are times when I have had to sing and I’m simply not feeling like I can. There are more strains of flu and sickness going around every year and they seem to affect me much of the time, giving me a slightly sore or scratchy throat. In the past I might have cancelled an upcoming show because I know I’m going to blow my voice out. Using the ideas I’ve picked up from Brett’s video singing lessons I seem to have been able to overcome that for the most part. Honestly, there have been plenty of times that I’ve gone to a show wondering to myself if I’m going to get through it. There have been numerous occasions where my bandmates (or audience members) have approached me and told me what a wonderful job I did. It’s true!  Now,  I’m not saying that you will immediately make the shift from learning how to sing to learning how to sing when you’re sick. I’m just saying that using the speech level singing techniques that Brett teaches really helps you to let go of the strain of sing high notes. It’s this strain that ultimately helps you to blow out your voice so learning to get rid of it is good.

I really, really, really, recommend these lessons to anybody that wants to learn how to sing. As I state elsewhere in this site, we all can, it’s just a matter of finding what you’re good at to start with. Video singing lessons from SingingSuccess Online will help to show you the way to a nice voice for sure! Click on the banner below to check them out.
