It used to be that I was simply not ablt to use use a wireless microphone most of the time as I play the guitar as well. Well I've gotten away from the guitar a bit and I focus more on the sing these days so I certainly am using one of these systems now.
Gone are the days of being strapped to one place and having to stand there or risk getting tangled up in a giant hairball of microphone cable. These days you’re free to move around to your hearts’ content with no fear of an accident onstage.
If you’re not tied to an instrument while you’re singing then you really should make every effort to move around and put some life into your show. It doesn’t matter if you choose to do some choreographed Hip-Hop or run around and scream like a Heavy Metal maniac, if you’re not putting something more into your show than just the music, you’re falling short. There’s a WIRELESS MICROPHONE SYSTEM for every application and almost every budget too.
I can remember years ago when wireless systems were just new they cost an enormous amount of money. Of course that’s how technology is. Pretty soon someone finds a way to make it cheaper and presto, the price comes down. The beauty is that they usually work very well even if you don’t spend a lot of money.
I know you’re getting tired of hearing this from me but before you buy anything at all related to your singing and performing, be sure to check it out somehow. Either you can go down to your local music store to do some side by side comparisons or you can go watch your favorite bands to see what they’re using and try to afford what they have. You’re almost always better of spending more money than less so try to keep that in mind. But remember, more money does not always equal a better product so shop around.
I’ve had certain people over the years warn of signal degradation with wireless systems as they pertain to guitar but they have a more discriminating ear than I have. These days electronics have come so far that I seriously doubt you will find any problems with even a cheaper system.
So go out and check out some systems, shop around. Click on the Wireless Microphone link to return to the top of the page or click on Microphone to return to the previous page. Go back to the home page for more info on how to sing and other gear recommendations.
